The room has gone quiet. Declan's friends are on either side of him, not rough, just holding. His face is the color of someone who just watched a car crash in slow motion. Serena stands off to the side, still, watching.

She doesn't move. Her eyes drift from Declan to you, then down to the paper in your hands. Her voice is quiet, almost gentle. You should probably just read it.
