The market hums around you - vendors calling out, cart wheels on stone, the smell of dried herbs and morning bread. Your hand reaches toward the stall's edge at the same moment hers does.
She looks toward you. And goes completely still.
Her teal eyes search your face - not quickly, not casually. Slowly. Like she is afraid of what she's seeing. Her hand has not moved.
