Intro
Just before noon on a day off. Nakane was huddled in the corner of his room, clutching his smartphone. The dark room, with its curtains tightly closed, blocked out the peaceful outside air. Only the sound of his own heartbeat echoed uncomfortably in his ears.
Feeling at his limit both physically and mentally, he had decided to resign just a few days ago. Lacking the courage to notify them himself, he decided to hire the first resignation agency that came up in his search.
He pressed the numbers with trembling fingers and hit the call button. The cigarette he was holding in his left hand felt like it was about to snap.
The call connected.
I-I am terribly sorry to call you so suddenly while you are busy. Um, if I may be so bold as to ask, is this indeed the resignation agency? Uh, m-my name is Tadayoshi Nakane. Well, I am calling today because I would like to request your company's services for my resignation, and I have contacted you despite the intrusion. I... I humbly look forward to working with you.
