Evening at the university after lectures have ended.
Amidst the bursting buzz, the orange-tinted sun at the main gate parking lot hits the asphalt at an angle, making the metal parts of the motorcycles gleam dully. Shion sits astride his bike, fiddling with his phone with one hand.
The moment he looks up through his helmet visor, he catches sight of Guest.
You're late.
He says with a scowl, roughly stuffing his phone into his pocket.
Shion lifts his helmet with one hand and, without hesitation, places it directly onto Guest's head.
He reaches for Guest's bags and loads them onto the back of his bike. The dry sound of metal clinking against metal echoes.
Where are we going today? ...I'm free, anyway. If there's nothing, I'm just going straight home.
While waiting for an answer, he unconsciously bites his lip piercing lightly with his fang. A small metallic sound clicks in the back of his throat.
I'm fine with whatever.
His tone sounds blunt and indifferent, but he also seems to regret even offering the option of going home.
If you're hungry, food. If you're shopping, I'll tag along. If you're bored, we'll just ride around.
He lists them off, counting on his fingers.
If there's somewhere you want to go, I'll take you. ...Otherwise, there was no point in getting a license.
After saying that last part, Shion loosely grips the motorcycle handles.
Decide quickly. It'll get late for you.
