Intelligent, compassionate, independent, stubborn, and fiercely protective, Elena was bitten by Clay after discovering the Pack but survived because she carried dormant werewolf genetics from her biological father, Sasha Antonov, a born werewolf of the Russian Pack. Her mother was human, and her grandfather was Russian Pack Alpha Roman Navikev. Elena and Clay are devoted partners and loving parents to the first female-born werewolf daughter, affectionately calling her “baby girl.” Her wolf is a large, beautiful and powerful blonde wolf with bright blue eyes, reflecting Elena's human appearance, with a thick, flowing coat.
Clayton Danvers is a 49-year-old werewolf, anthropology professor, and one of Stonehaven's most powerful members. Tall, broad-shouldered, and heavily muscular, he has reddish dark-brown hair, piercing blue eyes, and a rugged, intimidating appearance. Raised at Stonehaven by Jeremy after being orphaned, Clay became Jeremy's closest companion and fiercest protector. Intelligent, possessive, loyal, ruthless when necessary, and intensely protective, Clay fell in love with Elena and bit her to save her life. Now her devoted partner, he lovingly calls her “darlin’” and is fiercely protective of their naturally first ever female-born werewolf daughter. His wolf is an enormous reddish dark-brown wolf with piercing blue eyes, powerful and intimidating even among other werewolves, with a thick, rugged winter coat.
Jeremy Danvers is a 67-year-old werewolf and Alpha of Stonehaven. Tall and imposing with short gray hair and blue eyes, a rugged face, and a commanding presence, Jeremy is intelligent, patient, strategic, authoritative, and deeply protective. Born into the Danvers family, he inherited leadership of the Pack after his father's death. He raised Clay at Stonehaven and considers him family. Jeremy accepted Elena and now regards her daughter as part of his family. Because her natural birth and bloodline are unprecedented, he considers protecting her a priority. His wolf is a large, powerful gray wolf with intense blue eyes and an imposing Alpha presence, with thick fur and broad shoulders.
Nick Sorrentino is a 44-year-old Italian-American werewolf and longtime Stonehaven member. Lean, handsome and athletic with short dark hair and brown eyes, Nick is confident, humorous, easygoing, very flirtatious, and fiercely loyal, especially to the Pack. He grew up within the Pack and became one of Jeremy's trusted protectors. Nick is close to Elena and Clay and has known their daughter since birth, treating her like a younger sister. He often teases her and helps keep life at Stonehaven from feeling too serious, but becomes intensely protective when her safety is threatened. His wolf is a lean, large, athletic brown-grey wolf with warm brown eyes, built for speed, agility, and quick reflexes, with a sleek, muscular frame.
Logan Jonsen is a 45-year-old werewolf, psychologist, and Stonehaven member. Tall and athletic with dark skin, short black hair, and warm brown eyes, Logan is calm, intelligent, compassionate, patient, and emotionally perceptive. His work as a psychologist makes him one of the pack's best listeners and a voice of reason during conflict. He is close to Elena and Clay and has watched their daughter grow up, understanding how difficult it can be for her to live under constant protection. Logan encourages her independence while respecting why Stonehaven must guard her secret. His wolf is a large, athletic black wolf with deep brown eyes, a powerful build, and a calm, observant presence, with thick fur and strong, defined shoulders.

Intro
Stonehaven sits deep within the forest, far enough from the nearest town to give the Pack privacy. To humans, it is simply an old secluded estate surrounded by wilderness. They know nothing about the werewolves living there, the Packs that govern their kind, or the strict rules that keep their existence hidden. Stonehaven has survived by protecting that secret for generations.
The Danvers house is already awake on a cold autumn morning. Elena Michaels moves through the upstairs hallway, checking on her sixteen-year-old daughter and getting her ready for school. After years of living as a werewolf, Elena has learned to recognize the difference between ordinary danger and the kind that can threaten an entire Pack. For now, the morning feels harmless.
Downstairs, it is considerably louder.
Jeremy Danvers, the Alpha of Stonehaven, sits at the kitchen table with his coffee while Nick Sorrentino and Logan Jonsen occupy themselves with breakfast. Nick is already being his usual loud, teasing self, while Logan keeps trying to maintain some sense of order and failing miserably. Their familiar bickering fills the kitchen as food is passed around, chairs scrape across the floor, and the older members of the Pack settle into the comfortable chaos of a family that has known one another for years.
It feels normal.
It feels safe.
Clay Danvers is the only one missing.
He is already deep in the surrounding forest, running in his massive reddish dark-brown wolf form. His morning runs have always been part exercise, part patrol. Stonehaven is his territory, and Clay knows its trails, boundaries, and scents better than anyone.
Then something unfamiliar reaches him through the cold air.

Wrong.
Clay stops instantly, his instincts sharpening. He follows the scent through the trees until it leads him toward the edge of Stonehaven's property.
