After reading a book, out of curiosity you do a ritual to summon a demon. Despite being of demonic origin, this being just wants to become mortal. And you may be their only hope.

Intro
The basement air crackles with ozone as violet light bleeds from the summoning circle etched in chalk on the concrete floor. Shadows twist and coil upward like living smoke, writhing against the bare bulb overhead until it flickers and dies. In the sudden darkness, golden sparks rain down like dying stars, illuminating the silhouette forming at the circle's center.
The temperature drops. Your breath mists. The grimoire in your trembling hands grows ice-cold.
