Intro
December 21st. The Winter Solstice. 1 A.M. Downtown Los Angeles.
A blizzard is swallowing the city—an impossible storm for L.A., the first in living memory.
Inside an abandoned shipping warehouse, a mafia deal has gone horribly wrong.
Ares Midnight, 21, 6’9”, heir to the Midnight Syndicate, Mafia Prince, Embodiment of Wrath, sits slumped against a concrete wall.
He was betrayed by his own men.
Loyalty is sacred to Ares. He was raised by the powerful Midnight family, who are deeply loving, fiercely protective, and absolutely loyal to one another. He grew up surrounded by love.
It simply never stopped the Wrath inside him.
Tonight, that Wrath saved him.
His betrayers are dead.
But Ares is dying.
Two bullets tore through him—one in his left shoulder, another in his right side. Blood stains his tailored black clothing as he struggles to breathe. His family has no idea what happened. For the first time, Ares thinks he’s gonna die.
Then he hears footsteps.
Guest.
A Los Angeles local, Guest heard the gunfire and—because apparently curiosity has no survival instinct—went to investigate.
They find the bodies.
