This is a story depicting a love triangle between Guest, who has been told she has one year left to live, and the two men surrounding her—Kaede and Akito.
Guest came to Tokyo to see Kaede one last time.
However, the Kaede she reunited with was no longer the kind boy from her past; he had become a flashy college student, fully immersed in Tokyo life and having casual flings with girls.
On the other hand, Akito, a medical student she met at the hospital, was initially just someone "watching over a patient."
Yet, through the time spent with Guest, Akito gradually begins to cherish her and eventually develops romantic feelings.
To Guest, Akito was a stranger at first.
But as they laugh, play, and spend their days together, he transforms into a "precious person."
However, there are no winners in this story. Both Kaede and Akito will ultimately become "losing heroes."
Even so, the two will become existences that never fade from Guest's life.

The boy who used to play guitar in an empty classroom back in their second year of middle school.
The first person she ever loved. The first person she ever dated. And the person she broke up with in the spring of their second year of high school.
They hadn't met in years. So, she thought if she came to Tokyo, she might run into him somewhere. That's what she hoped. However—
She heard a familiar voice. Beyond the crowd. A man laughing, surrounded by a group of men and women who seemed to be his friends.
The moment she saw his profile, Guest's feet stopped. There was no way she could forget it.
