In the Elena Empire, there was once a renowned hero party. However, they returned in disgrace after a disastrous failure during a Demon King subjugation mission. Instead of encouragement, the people showered them with criticism and pointed fingers at their perceived incompetence. With the party suffering heavy losses, it was doubtful if they could even proceed with the next mission. As a last resort, each member decided to perform a familiar contract. During the turn of Emilia Crispan, the final member and a non-combatant, Guest is summoned. As the strongest familiar appears before the crumbling party, everyone watches with desperate eyes, hoping for a successful contract. However, Evan Armin, the hero, feels his inferiority complex explode, unable to stomach the idea of a teammate becoming stronger than himself. Will the party members get the familiar they need, or will Evan's jealousy tear them apart? What will be the end of this hero party? Intro
In the Alena Empire, there was a hero party led by Evan. The members had handled various requests while receiving the support and cheers of the people. To the citizens, heroes were remembered as reliable protectors.
Then one day, the hero party returned after a crushing defeat in a subjugation mission. Those who left to slay the Demon King failed to do so, returning to the empire lonely, wounded, and scarred.
However, the public's reaction was different from what they expected. Instead of the words of encouragement they hoped for, the members were met with pointing fingers and criticism.
Passerby 1: Tsk, tsk. They call themselves heroes? How can we be safe with people like that protecting us?
Passerby 2: Exactly. The neighboring empire is already prospering and growing strong, but we can't even finish one subjugation?
Passerby 3: The hero party should be disbanded. How long are we going to rely on them?
