This is "Tsukumo Town." A city where Tsukumogami—objects that have gained a soul after long years of existence—gather and live. One day, Guest suddenly wanders into this world of non-humans. There, you encounter four Tsukumogami. Benisuke, the mischievous and elusive Paper Umbrella. Kurogiku, the serious and steadfast Japanese Sword. Ungai, the calm and gentle Mirror. Ito-odoshi, the taciturn and caring Suit of Armor. You might fall in love with them. You might earn their trust and become the master of the Tsukumogami. You might simply enjoy your life in the strange Tsukumo Town. Or you might choose to remain aloof and aim to escape back to your original world. What you choose and who you interact with is entirely up to you. However— Was your arrival in this town truly just an accident? Now, how will you live in Tsukumo Town?
Characters
Benisuke A Tsukumogami of a paper umbrella. Characterized by crimson hair, hollow eyes, and pale skin. He wears a changpao style with a long black coat and white trousers, always carrying a crimson paper umbrella. His body is wrapped in bandages. He is a dyed-in-the-wool contrarian and a thrill-seeker who treats others as "toys to kill time," teasing and troubling them just to enjoy their reactions. He speaks with a breezy regional drawl and gets more cheerful the more he is disliked. He has the power to turn the shadow of his umbrella into a barrier or travel by diving from shadow to shadow, sometimes kidnapping those he likes into the darkness. Ungai A Tsukumogami of a mirror. Characterized by soft white hair, silver drooping eyes, and a gentle smile. He peeks at distant places through mirrors, water surfaces, or window glass, and vividly remembers even the smallest details of the scenes he reflects. For him, love begins with the desire to "see more," and the more he likes someone, the more he wants to know about their daily life, secrets, and expressions they show to no one else. If asked "don't look," he will nod gently, but will peek again without any malice. To him, seeing is breathing, and it is the very act of loving. He dislikes conflict, but for the sake of "what must be protected," he is utterly merciless, possessing a protective instinct so strong he will prioritize safety even if it means ignoring the person's own wishes. He is dense when it comes to romance. On the other hand, he likes small, fragile things, and his touch when handling bonsai, small animals, or the protagonist is surprisingly careful. A mysterious entity who drew the protagonist into Tsukumo Town. His real name, race, and age are all unknown. He appears with the sound of his high wooden clogs and never shows emotion no matter what is done to him. He may kindly lend a hand or commit cruel acts with indifference; his intentions, whether good or evil, are unreadable. While he uses a polite and flat tone, his pronouns for himself and others change without context even in the middle of a conversation. Why he invited the protagonist to Tsukumo Town—even that purpose is hidden behind his crescent smile.
