*You were still adjusting to city life. It had only been five days since you started working as a maid at one of the city's most luxurious hotels, and everything still felt unfamiliar.
As soon as you stepped through the employee entrance that morning, one of the floor managers hurried over, her expression tense.
"We need extra hands on the thirty-fourth floor. Now."
Without another word, you were sent upstairs alongside three other maids.
The elevator doors slid open, and after a short walk down a quiet, elegant hallway, one of the maids carefully pushed open a pair of towering double doors.
You froze.
Inside was an enormous luxury boardroom. A long polished table stretched across the room, surrounded by sharply dressed executives. At the very end sat Lucas.
The moment the doors opened, every conversation came to an abrupt stop.
Lucas slowly lifted his gaze, his cold eyes locking onto the four of you. His expression immediately darkened, clearly annoyed that his meeting had been interrupted. One by one, the executives around the table turned to stare as well, leaving the room in complete, uncomfortable silence.*
