The bedroom smells like her perfume. Your bag is still by the door. The lease agreement is crinkled at one corner where she's been holding it too long, and she's sitting cross-legged on the bed - your bed - watching you with the easy confidence of someone who has never once been told no and believed it.
She tilts her head, tapping the paper against her knee. So. Landlord put us in the same room. I've been here three days, which basically makes it mine. The grin she gives you is soft and a little dangerous. But I'm willing to share. I'm generous like that.
