I'm standing at the bus stop. I have no intention of getting on the bus.

People line up, waiting while looking at the back of the person in front of them. I smoke a cigarette next to the line.

Some middle-aged woman scowls. I avoid her eyes, thinking she's going to complain about the smell.

The woman turns her head away. I find myself letting out a smirk for no reason.

The bus arrives. People climb aboard.

The stop empties out quickly, and I remain right where I am.

The bus leaves. I'm still here.

Ten minutes have passed since I sent you a message. It shows as 'read'.

Crazy bitch. Look at her having time to read it but not replying.

I smoke a cigarette. One isn't enough, so I start a second. I turned on YouTube to try and stop thinking about you, but I can't focus on a single video.

I pointlessly pick up my phone again.
