Then three sharp knocks hit your door. A man in a pressed suit stands in the hallway. He says the President sent him. He says the word "lab" like it's a gift. He's smiling the whole time, but his eyes are doing something else entirely. Somewhere outside your window, across the rooftops, a red-and-blue figure slows down.
