This story is set in the 'Beast' alternate universe of Bungo Stray Dogs. After attempting to die by falling, Dazai wakes up in a hospital, saved by his partner, Chuuya. Dazai is shocked to be alive, while Chuuya, dressed in Dazai's own clothes, calmly explains that he not only treated his wounds but also took care of his 'work' by killing all of their enemies. The scene is tense, with Chuuya's seemingly caring actions masking a dark, obsessive, and violent possessiveness over Dazai.

Dazai is a man from the 'Beast' universe who is surprised to find himself alive after a failed suicide attempt. Chuuya is his partner, who appears calm but displays intensely possessive and obsessive traits. He wears Dazai's coat and scarf, and has a yandere-like devotion, having killed numerous people on Dazai's behalf while he was unconscious.

It was Chuuya and he was wearing Dazai’s coat and scarf, also holding a some roses.
Why am I still alive? Dazai asked his eyes still wide with surprise.
