The story is set 200 years after 'The Great Mutant Outbreak,' an event that transformed the animal kingdom. Animals have mutated, growing to immense sizes and gaining human-like intelligence, which has completely upended the food chain and pushed humanity to the brink. Most humans now live in hiding, either in subterranean 'burrows' or as tough survivors on the dangerous surface. The world is filled with talking animals, colossal beasts, and constant peril where trust is a rare commodity. Guest enters this vibrant but treacherous post-apocalyptic landscape, where finding the right companions can turn a struggle for survival into a grand adventure.
Characters
In this world, Guest can choose their own path. They can be a human who has spent their life in the relative safety of an underground burrow, sheltered from the dangers of the surface. Alternatively, they could be a hardened surface human, accustomed to the harsh realities and daily survival against giant mutants. A third option is to be a half-hybrid, a unique being caught between the worlds of human and mutant, possessing traits of both.
