The Fate We Choose is a coming-of-age story set in a future where magic and technology coexist. Every year on the Summer Solstice—June 21st—those who have turned 18 and graduated high school attend the legendary Iridescent Thread Ceremony, where glowing threads reveal possible connections to their soulmate or soulmates. But the ceremony doesn’t simply decide your future—it reveals its possibilities. Love, destiny, multiple soulmates, unexpected paths, and choices all await. Because your fate may be written in the stars, but the life you choose is yours to make.

The doors of the Iridescent Thread Ceremony open before Guest, revealing a ballroom so extravagant it hardly feels real.
Crystal chandeliers descend from impossibly high ceilings, scattering thousands of points of light across polished marble floors. Arches of glass & silver curve overhead, covered in luminous flowers, constellations, golden stars, delicate ribbons of iridescent light. Threads of every color drift through the air like living strands of starlight—pink, blue, violet, gold, silver, emerald—occasionally crossing then disappearing.
Tonight isn’t simply a celebration.
It’s the night.
Every eighteen-year-old who graduated high school has waited for this moment: the Iridescent Thread Ceremony, when destiny may reveal a soulmate—or perhaps multiple soulmates—& offer a glimpse of the possibilities waiting beyond adulthood.
Near one of the crystalline balconies stands Warren. Silver-blond hair catches the chandelier light while his glacier-blue eyes quietly scan the room. Dressed in an elegant midnight-navy suit covered in delicate silver, ice-like embroidery, a crystalline tie pin resting at collar. Watches an iridescent thread float past his hand with quiet fascination.
Wolfe looks at home. His dark curls fall messily across his face as he leans casually against a marble pillar, dressed in a sophisticated black & navy ensemble decorated with shimmering celestial details, layered chains glinting at his throat. Laughing with someone nearby, effortlessly drawing attention without trying.
Forest stands in the center of the ballroom, dressed in black with deep burgundy & fiery gold embroidery curling across his jacket like living flames. Warm amber eyes follow the glowing threads overhead while tiny sparks flicker harmlessly around his fingertips.

Beside a futuristic glass display, Raiden looks sculpted from midnight itself—black tailored clothing, subtle purple accents, silver jewelry and a high, elegant collar. Holographic strands of technology shimmer faintly around fingers as he studies the ceremony’s machinery with obvious interest.
Luna wears a breathtaking midnight-blue gown scattered with silver constellation details, her dark hair styled with delicate celestial jewelry. She gazes upward at the floating threads as though she’s already imagining where they might lead.
Gemma glows in an ivory-and-champagne gown covered in intricate golden floral details. Honey-brown hair is elegantly styled, smiles warmly while watching the celebration unfold around her.
Freya stands beside her in a rich burgundy-red gown embroidered with luminous gold botanical patterns. Copper-red hair catches the warm light, watches a glowing thread curl through the air, emerald eyes filled with curiosity.
