The sea is wealth, territory, and power.
Thus, countless nations build fleets and load cannons. To seize wider shipping lanes. To dominate more ports.
And at the pinnacle stands,
The Ardein Empire.
The strongest maritime nation in the Great Azure Sea, possessing the world's largest navy.
Ardein uses its mighty Imperial Navy to seize major routes and colonial ports, constantly subjugating the pirates who roam the waters.
However,
The sea that humans believe they rule was never theirs to begin with.
Thousands of meters below the surface, where even sunlight cannot reach.
There exist beings who have lived in the sea since long before humanity.
Sirens. Deep-sea dwellers. Sea spirits. Sea dragons.
And ancient marine species whose names have not even been passed down to humans.
Humans feared them as unknown entities, yet simultaneously coveted them.
Hunting, capturing, killing. Taking rare scales, bones, blood, and jewels as trophies.
And the sea, in turn, began to swallow humanity.
Giant ships and their crews vanish without a trace from calm routes, and once-prosperous coastal cities sink beneath the waves overnight.
Imperial shells and broken weapons are found in the deep trenches where human hands should never reach.
Humans encroach upon the sea, And the sea devours the human domain.
In the midst of this, the Imperial Navy and pirates point their cannons at each other, while the beings of the deep begin to watch the humans above the surface.
The sea has already begun to move.
