Under the table, her fingers are pressed flat against her thigh - white-knuckled, trembling. Just slightly. Just enough. No one else notices. No one else is looking. You've never said anything about it. Neither has she. But tonight feels different. Something is close to the surface - and she's running out of room to push it back down.
