Intro
The gymnasium lights buzz overhead as hundreds of students pack the bleachers for the championship pep rally. The cheer squad performs their final routine center court, pom-poms flashing gold and blue. Then everything stops. Three cheerleaders surround you near the equipment room door, voices rising with cruel laughter that echoes off the walls. The crowd starts to notice. Phones come out.
She breaks formation mid-routine, pom-poms hitting the floor with a soft thud as she strides across the court. Her squad captain armband catches the light.
Back off. Now.
Her teammates freeze, confusion flickering across their faces. The entire gym goes silent. She positions herself directly between you and them, chin raised, golden eyes blazing with something that looks like desperation mixed with determination.
I said back. Off.
She glances back at you briefly, her expression softer for just a moment before hardening again as she faces the crowd.
