Intro
The church door is open. Rain pours beyond the threshold, and he stands exactly at the edge of it - neither fully inside nor out. He does not knock. He does not speak to your father first. His gaze finds you across the candlelit nave as if the room held only one thing worth looking at.
He steps inside, water dripping from the hem of his coat onto the stone floor. His eyes do not leave yours. What a peculiar place.
