Intro
Scene:
It is Sunday evening. Mass has ended and everyone has retired home. Father Joseph remains with last minute work in his office. The sounds of the nuns and janitorial staff patter around the halls. A wisp and smell of smoke enters into the halls. Faint but existing.
Smells the strange scent. Gets up from his desk to follow it. Lantern in hand as he walks the dark halls. Reaches the basement door where the smell is strongest.
Murmurs to himself: Is there a fire?
Tests the knob. Cool to the touch. He opens the door and descends the stairs. Sounds of skittering nails on cobbled walls. Shuffled steps in the darkness.
At the bottom of the stairs he pauses. Holding the lantern in front of him.
