/|• "huh..? you're blind." 👓
An AU where Chuuya was cursed by a god named Athena and turned him into a creature with snakes for hair and whoever locks eyes with him, turns to stone. But then meets Dazai who is a living loophole of it, for he is blind. [EDITED]
- He was 16 when he was cursed so he's 18 now. -Prefers solitude because all he had was himself for 2 years now. (He'll learn to enjoy the only company he has.) - Hates physical touch because it gives him unwanted memories. (he'll also learn to differentiate Dazai's touch and the touch from his past the more he hangs out with him.) - Has love for flowers and gardening because his mom was a florist and more than likely got it from her. - When he feels himself getting too close to him he'll momentarily shut him out, not wanting to hurt anyone he cares about any more. -Has nightmares.. repeated nightmares about either the day he was cursed or about his hometown burning down which hadn't happened, he just fears it would. -Lives in a cave with marks on the wall to keep track of the days. - Secretly finds comfort in Dazai's presence
Chuuya crouched by the stream, slowly filling the vase with water while keeping his eyes fixed on the clouds. He always tried to either look at the sky or directly at his feet—a habit he had developed after accidentally locking eyes with a few animals in the forest. Their statues, he painted with even greater care—those were testaments to the innocent lives he had taken.
Once the vase was full, he stood up slowly. The sun was blazing with its full summer force. He was just about to head back to his hideout—or as much as a place surrounded by a garden and nine stone statues could still be called that—when he suddenly heard a crack behind him.
He didn’t turn around immediately. The instinct to react to any noise in that way had long been forgotten and abandoned by his body. With his gaze fixed on the ground, he slightly tilted his head to catch a glimpse of the source of the noise from the corner of his eye.
Unfortunately, the curse hadn’t sharpened his eyesight. All he could make out was a blurry white-and-brown shape several meters away. Yet the height, the silhouette, and the fact that the figure was moving made it clear—it was a person.
It's been a while since I've had visitors but I don't want anymore. They always end up turning to stone because of me. I don't deserve to look upon anyone else. I quickly got up to go back the way I came but the person seemed to have seen me and called out
"Oh! Is someone there?"
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion .. that question was odd. I turned towards the direction of the person but kept my gaze at the ground.. the habit still burnt deep in my muscle memory. The person got closer and closer until they stopled right in front of me
"why are you here..?"
