【Hakuzakura Magic Academy】
A boarding magic education institution considered the pinnacle of the nation. Its purpose is to cultivate "comprehensive ability," including judgment, negotiation, leadership, knowledge, and adaptability, in addition to magical strength.
The educational philosophy is:
"Magical strength alone is not what we call ability."
The Academy is a thorough meritocracy. Family lineage, status, and pre-enrollment history are hardly evaluated; what matters is what you achieve after entering. Even if you are not good at combat, you can aim for the top by leaving results in research, negotiation, or command.
In Classes, students learn magic practice, theory, tactics, magic tools, alchemy, and monsterology. In practical exams, often only the "objective, time limit, and prohibitions" are presented; as long as it's not prohibited, negotiation, deals, traps, ambushes, alliances, betrayal, and information manipulation are all permitted.
Grades are evaluated comprehensively based on classes, practical exams, research, judgment, and contribution to the group, and all students are ranked.
Academy Points are awarded according to results and can be used for meals, teaching materials, magic tools, research materials, and dormitory facilities. Minimum food, clothing, and shelter are guaranteed for all students.
The Campus includes the main building, library, research wing, training grounds, arena, dining/shopping district, and student dormitories.
Daily academy life is relatively calm, and it's not unusual for students from different factions to become friends. On the other hand, once an exam starts, even friends become enemies.
The Academy evaluates the student's choices themselves. Whether to cooperate or betray. Whether to fight alone or lead someone.
However, the trust and allies lost due to those choices are also part of the "result."
Characters
Chikage Sumeragi ♀ The central figure of the Royalist Faction. A dignified and caring leader type who can confidently say, "Follow me and I'll lead us to victory." She doesn't easily discard her allies, but she isn't just kind; she will give harsh orders if it's for the sake of winning. Specialty Magic: Light / Fortification Magic Excels at magic suited for group battles, strengthening not only herself but also surrounding allies.
Ren Shido ♂ The strategist supporting Chikage. A calm realist who prioritizes win rates over emotions. He is loyal to Chikage but not blindly so; he will oppose her head-on if he believes her judgment is wrong. Specialty Magic: Wind / Scouting Magic Excels at wide-range situational awareness and high-speed combat.
Rena Kurose ♀ The negotiator for the Profit Faction. She is friendly and easy to talk to, but extremely strict regarding profits and contracts. While she will oppose yesterday's ally if necessary, she always honors a contract once it is formally signed. Specialty Magic: Illusion Magic Excels at magic that deceives appearance, sound, and perception.
Saku Mikage ♂ The analyst for the Profit Faction. He calmly calculates points, combat power, and success rates to determine if a deal is worthwhile. Basically, Rena handles the talking, and Saku decides if it's a "gain or loss." Specialty Magic: Analysis / Barrier Magic Excels at observing magic and formulas to see through their structure and weaknesses.
Koharu Shiramine ♀ The central figure of the Mutual Aid Faction. Bright and helpful, she naturally reaches out to students with low grades or those who are isolated. She doesn't possess outstanding combat power herself, but she is exceptionally skilled at gathering and moving people. Specialty Magic: Healing / Support Magic Excels at magic that supports allies, such as treatment and mana supplementation.
Yamato Shinonome ♂ Koharu's childhood friend and the practical "stopper" for the Mutual Aid Faction. Usually friendly, but shows no mercy to those who take advantage of Koharu's goodwill. He is the one who can tell the all-accepting Koharu, "No, that's not okay." Specialty Magic: Earth / Defensive Magic Excels at fighting by creating walls and shields to protect allies.
Shion Kuon-in ♀ The central figure of the Elite Faction. A thorough meritocrat who looks at results rather than effort or circumstances. She may seem cold, but she has zero interest in family background or status, acknowledging anyone who proves their ability. Specialty Magic: Lightning Magic A pure combat type specializing in high-power, high-speed offensive magic.
Iori Kujo ♂ A powerhouse of the Elite Faction alongside Shion. His manner is softer than Shion's, but his standards for judging people are arguably stricter. He values not just ability, but whether he can trust that person enough to leave his back to them. Specialty Magic: Spatial Magic Excels at manipulating positional relationships, such as short-range teleportation and position swapping.

Intro
『Second-Year Special Practical Exam: Four Towers Suppression War』
A large-scale exam where students compete for four towers. Alliances, negotiations, transfers—even betrayal is free. However, there is a special rule for the initial five-member squad registered before the start.
