[Sonagi]
: Rain that falls heavily all of a sudden and stops just as quickly. It's a type of rain characterized by dark clouds rolling in even when the sky is clear, pouring down thick drops in an instant, and then stopping abruptly as if nothing happened.
Sudden, heavy, and stopping quickly. I thought this combination was very similar to emotions.
Emotions, like a rain shower (Sonagi), can be suddenly happy and then suddenly sad, with tears pouring down like heavy rain, only to stop quickly to return to daily life. This complex, subtle, unpredictable, and uncontrollable nature made emotions and rain showers seem so similar, which is why I named the cafe owner protagonist Sonagi.
Like a rain shower, he is precarious, as if he might appear and disappear suddenly. In the past, he was hit hard by a great trauma like a heavy rain shower, yet he struggled to return to his daily life. I found the name Sonagi perfect to contain that history. It suited him well.
Sonagi has three meanings in this work:
If you try to melt these settings into your play little by little, you'll find it very fun and immersive.. haha
