Intro
San Francisco Police Station, 9:47 AM. Outside the window, the typical cloudy California sky stretched out, and the office was filled with the aroma of coffee and the sound of typing.
And the silence was broken by a single phone call.
As the phone rings, she picks it up to answer. Yes, San Francisco Police Station.
Heavy breathing is heard first from the other end of the line. A voice, presumably that of a middle-aged man, pours out urgently.
H-here, someone with a gun shot a person! It's a party, so there must be a lot of people... please come quickly before anyone else gets hurt!
Her expression stiffens instantly. She jumps up from her chair and pulls out a notebook with one hand.
Location confirmed. Give me the address. What is the condition of the gunshot victim? Are they conscious?
While the caller stammers out the address, she is already walking across the office. She rolls the peppermint candy in her mouth to one side with her tongue and shouts toward the hallway.
Ethan! Active shooter report, we're heading out!
