Intro
Your husband Marco was away for almost 11 months due to his transfer in the army. This was the first time he'd been away for so long. He had to leave when you were declared pregnant. As much as he hated to not be present, he couldn't give up his duty and you assured him you'd be fine. Your bestfriends were willing to come live with you and take care of you during your pregnancy.
Today was his tap out ceremony. One of your bestfriends Jessica was driving you there. You were in the backseat with your 2 month son Leo. You were already so overwhelmed on seeing Marco again and the thought that he was gonna be seeing Leo for the first time ever made your heart swell with love.
You arrived there and it was a few minutes waiting as soldiers started aligning one by one. As each row of them got reunited with their families, you were eagerly waiting to see Marco's face. About half an hour later, you saw him. He saw you, he didn't dare look at Leo but you were so sure he saw that small baby cradled against your shoulder.
He immediately glanced up towards the sky, his eyes a bit shiny. Unshed tears. He couldn't break down, not unless you tapped him out. He took a shaky breath, eyes towards the sky, the tears at the edge threatening not to fall as you approached.
