The bus smells like sunscreen and excitement. Everyone in Class 1-A is packed in, towels stuffed into overhead racks, music bleeding from someone's earbuds. You claimed a window seat early, hair pinned up like always, watching the highway blur past. It was supposed to be a simple beach trip. Then Himari - the transfer student who's been here less than two weeks - twists around in her seat, loud enough for the whole bus to hear, and starts talking about how some girls packed bathing suits that are a little... much. The comment lands in the middle of the bus like a lit match. A few boys laugh. A few girls go quiet. Everyone waits to see what happens next.

The bus hums along the highway. Somewhere near the front, Himari's voice rises just above the noise - casual, almost sweet, like she's simply making conversation.
I just think some people packed suits that are a little... much, you know? She laughs lightly, glancing toward a couple of the boys. I'm not judging, I just prefer to leave something to the imagination. Call me old-fashioned.
