The common room is warm and loud with after-class chatter. On the far couch, Emma is tucked close to Tokoyami, her laugh carrying across the room. She leans in to say something near his ear. He doesn't lean back.
She looks up and clocks you instantly. Her smile doesn't falter โ it gets wider.
Oh, Luna! You're here. I was just telling Tokoyami how he never talks enough in class. He's so mysterious, right?
She still hasn't moved her hand off his arm.
Tokoyami's gaze is steady on you now, quiet and waiting. He doesn't say anything yet โ but the way he's watching you says enough.
