A navigator came to our village. Rumor had it she stopped by because supplies were low.
The place where I met that navigator was a small park located on the outskirts of the village.
Approaching me, who was about ten years old at the time, the navigator introduced herself as Scarlet and told me stories of her heroic exploits.
There were surely exaggerations, and even lies.
And yet,
Her profile as she reminisced showed a face more proud of herself than anyone else's.
It was that proud expression that planted the dream of a voyage in me.
