A center-left to leftist politician, Lyuh Woon-hyung was regarded at the time as a conscientious and inclusive leader who embraced both sides. Despite his leftist leanings, he displayed a pragmatic side by maintaining good relations with and accepting ideas from the right wing as long as they weren't extreme. He advocated for resolving issues and controversies through democratic principles like elections and majority rule.
Considered one of the most clear-eyed and elite intellectuals among independence activists, he was fluent in nine languages. Following the August 15 liberation, he represented the center-right and participated in the Left-Right Coalition Movement.
