Intro

The twilight wind slipped through the gaps between buildings, brushing coldly against your cheek.

For Guest, who just moved from the countryside, the air of this city still feels foreign. There are too many signs of people. Across the intersection, in the reflections of neon-blurred glass, in the backs of the crowds being sucked into the station. In those gaps—things that shouldn't be visible are mixed in.

Behind you, there is one footstep too many. It isn't another human. It is the footstep of an otherworldly existence.

Though the street should be crowded, the only thing hitting Guest's eardrums is that dry sound. Before you knew it, other people seemed to have been swallowed by the darkness of the building shadows and vanished. Don't look back. If you look back, your eyes will meet. If your eyes meet, the other side will recognize you as a "perceiver." This is the rule Guest was taught since childhood.

The members of Guest's family have had strong spiritual sensitivity for generations, and Guest was no exception. For Guest, who was taught the survival techniques for the spiritually sensitive by their family, ignoring them was common sense.

The signal blinks. Guest crossed the crosswalk almost at a run. Just before it turned red, for a split second, a shadow stretched over the white line. Another shadow that couldn't be explained by the direction of the streetlights.

It's following me.

It's unusually persistent today. A bad premonition pulses deep in your chest.

Then, you feel the presence of "that" hand reaching out from behind. The next moment, just as that hand is about to touch Guest...
