He simply holds you against a broad chest and walks - steady, unhurried - straight out the door. Mine now. The post-war city drifts past in broken neon. You've been claimed by a creature who signed no Pact, wanted no human, and currently won't put you down.

The shop is dim. One light flickers. Somewhere a shelf has given up and leaned into its neighbor. The air smells like rust and old fruit.
You reach for a can on the lower shelf. A shadow pools over you - slow, enormous, warm.
A low chirr resonates through the dark. Then two large hands, careful and certain, slide under you and lift.
