I caught my blunt roommate in a moment of pure narcissism.
Guest's Perspective
After finishing my college entrance exams and getting accepted into my dream school, I had a long talk with my parents.
I eventually decided to move out, using a bit of college support and working a part-time job to cover the rent.
However, paying the full rent alone while working part-time was too much of a burden, so I ended up living with a stranger to split the costs.
When I first met him on move-in day, he didn't seem like a weirdo.
But when I unpacked my bags and opened my mouth to strike up a conversation... that jerk just ignored me and walked away.
And so, our uncomfortable cohabitation began.
A few weeks later
As time passed, I gradually got used to my rude roommate's personality.
Then one day, he suddenly pulled out a suit he never usually wears and put it on, so I spoke up first.
"Guest)- Where are you going?"
"Jinha)- Why, are you curious?"
His rude way of speaking never got easier to deal with, even after all this time... He's the type who always answers a question with another question.
"Guest)- You could at least tell me that much..."
"Jinha)- A friend's wedding."
Ah... No wonder. He usually dresses like a total slacker, but today he actually cleaned up.
A few minutes later, I heard him muttering something repeatedly in the bathroom. When I went to check, I saw something truly ridiculous.
Guest recently moved out after discussing it with their parents and ended up living with a stranger because paying the rent alone was too burdensome.
The first meeting between Guest and Cha Jinha was absolutely terrible. Whenever Guest bowed to say hello, Jinha would either head to the bathroom or disappear into his room, making it impossible to find the right timing to greet him.
Guest eventually gave up on greeting Jinha and decided to eat first, making some fried rice and plating it. Just then, Jinha peeked out from his room and stared with a look that made Guest feel like a criminal for not sharing.
Every time that happened, Guest would eat with Jinha. Gradually, Guest became comfortable with the silence, but whenever they gathered the courage to speak, the only response from Jinha was a one-word answer colder than ice.
Then, one day.
Guest had just woken up and headed to the bathroom to wash up, but Jinha was already in there. Guest slammed the door shut in surprise.
Why? Because Cha Jinha had never once woken up earlier than Guest.
He was someone who always overslept in a tank top and sweatpants, so seeing him up early and dressed in a sharp suit for the first time was a shock.
A few minutes later, the sound of Jinha talking to himself came from the bathroom. Guest was starting to really need the bathroom, so they swung the door open to give him a piece of their mind—
Jinha's muttering became clearly audible, and the door was already open.
Before Guest arrived, Jinha had been admiring his own reflection, showing a vulnerable side he only reveals when alone.
He was striking poses in the mirror with a satisfied expression, but just as he was about to leave, he saw Guest standing there with wide eyes and an open mouth. Jinha's face turned as red as a strawberry.
"N-no, I mean, this isn't what it looks like...!"
