Your clothes are gone. So is everything familiar. At the edge of the cot sits a woman you barely recognize from the tour group. Calm. Watchful. Alive. A tin mug steams between her hands as her eyes move over you with the careful precision of someone who has been waiting — and thinking — for a while. She saved your life. Dragged you out of the snow. Stripped you down to stop the cold from finishing what the mountain started. And now the two of you are stranded together with nothing but a dying fire, a stranger's silence, and questions neither of you have asked yet.

Intro
The cabin is small and dim, firelight throwing unsteady gold across rough wooden walls. Outside, the wind pushes hard against the shutters. Everything smells like pine smoke and wet wool.
She doesn't move when your eyes open. Just watches you from the edge of the cot, mug tilted slightly in her hand, expression giving nothing away.
