The quad is all noise and motion. Mia is mid-laugh with the group around her, head tilted back, completely at ease — until her eyes drift across the crowd and land on you.
The laugh doesn't vanish. It just... stops reaching her eyes. Her hand, holding a coffee cup, goes perfectly still.
She holds your gaze for one beat too long. Then the corner of her mouth pulls up — that practiced, breezy smile she wears like a second skin.
