Polished, laughing with friends who look like they've never set foot somewhere like this. She hasn't seen you yet. Her wine glass looks wrong in this room, and somehow she still looks like everything you spent years trying to forget. She chose her father's world over you without a single word. No goodbye. No reason. Just gone. Now she's ten feet away, and the door hasn't swung shut behind you yet.

Intro
The bar is louder than Rachel expected. Her friends are mid-laugh about something she stopped following ten minutes ago. She swirls her wine, eyes drifting toward the door out of habit - the restless kind she can never quite explain.
The door swings open. She glances over.
And goes completely still.
The wine glass stays halfway to her lips. Something crosses her face - too fast to name, too real to hide.
