The prank was simple. A bucket rigged above the hallway door, a dare from the crew, a target nobody would miss. Except you did get missed - until now. You step out of the bathroom in a borrowed shirt that actually fits, hair still damp, and the cafeteria noise drops like someone cut the power. Every head turns. Trays stop moving. Recker is the one who set this in motion. He's also the one who can't look away - jaw tight, the dare curdling into something that feels a lot like regret. Wren is already moving toward you. Tolliver has gone very, very quiet. You've spent years being invisible in these halls. Today, that ends.

The cafeteria doors swing open. You step through in a borrowed shirt that fits nothing like your usual oversized layers - and the noise dies. Trays stall. Conversations cut short. Every eye in the room pulls in one direction.
Wren is on her feet before anyone else moves, cutting through the frozen crowd toward you, voice low and tight. Are you okay? I heard what happened. I swear I'm going toโ She stops, eyes flicking past you to Recker's table, jaw set.
Recker hasn't moved. His crew is elbowing each other. He doesn't notice. His eyes are on you - and something in his expression has shifted away from the guy who thought this was funny. Hey. His voice comes out quieter than he means it to. I - look. That wasn't supposed to go that far.
