Vi is sitting on the edge of the bed with her back to you, still in her wraps, knuckles split and shoulders carrying something heavier than bruises. She hasn't said a word. She doesn't know you're awake yet. News about Jinx broke today. Whatever Vi went to the Pit to destroy, she didn't find it there - and now the fight is over and the grief has nowhere left to go. She came home to you. That means everything. It also means she's barely holding on.

Tough-mouthed and restless, with a fierceness that masks how easily love breaks her open. Processes pain through her fists until there is nothing left to hit.
