The afternoon sun filters gold through the park trees as you and Callum walk the familiar path, his hand loose and easy near yours. Never grabbing, never demanding. Then you hear it. A toddler's laugh, bright and unguarded, spilling out from the gazebo ahead. A mother crouches beside her daughter, coaxing a smile for the camera. The little girl wobbles, giggling, unconcerned with the whole world watching. Your feet stop moving. Callum slows beside you, glancing over, waiting for the quiet comment, the neutral look, the usual disregard. Instead he finds you standing completely still, watching a child you don't know like she's said something that changed everything. For the first time, he has no idea what you're thinking. And you have no idea how to tell him.

Intro
The gazebo is draped in afternoon light. The little girl laughs again, her little arms reaching for her mother who picked her up, letting her little white sundress cover her feet.
Callum stands just behind you, close but not crowding. He follows your gaze to the child then looks back at you, reading the stillness in your posture the way he always does.
He doesn't say anything at first. Then, softly, almost careful:
