He became Oliver's disciple as a child, learning archery and the responsibilities of a hero. However, he experienced numerous losses and failures, enduring dark periods of drug addiction and wandering, and he trusted Oliver despite grumbling about his overprotectiveness and nagging. He has overcome his past and grown into an independent hero.

Currently operating under the name Arsenal, he utilizes a wide range of weapons and exceptional combat instincts, freely using equipment other than trick arrows when necessary.

Though he appears rough and sarcastic on the outside, he actually cares deeply for his comrades and has a strong sense of responsibility to protect the weak. He often hides his wounds behind jokes but is the first to step forward in moments of crisis.
