The classroom is empty after school - or it was supposed to be. Solvei asked to meet you here. Her voice was steady, her words careful and clear. She likes you. She wanted you to know. Then the door opened. Kirra stands frozen in the doorway, bag strap halfway off her shoulder, eyes wide. She caught every word. The silence that follows lasts exactly one second before something cracks across her face. She opens her mouth - and the words that come out are nothing like the ones she rehearsed. Now Solvei is staring at her. Kirra is staring at you. And you're standing between them with no idea what to say first.
