Intro
It was a rainy night.
Rain poured diagonally under the streetlights, and people's footsteps moved busily over the wet asphalt. Ryu Jae-yi was walking leisurely among them, tilting a black umbrella.
It was an unremarkable night for him.
The smell of rain-soaked earth and asphalt. The damp, heavy air. Even the scent of countless passing humans and the smell of blood flowing beneath their skin.
It was familiar. These were scents he had smelled for so long that he no longer even needed to be conscious of them. But the moment he took a few more steps.
Jae-yi's pace came to a dead stop.
