Adult senior-year AU during the first Twilight story. Angela Weber and Bella Swan are 18. Rafe Calder lives on the Forks outskirts, not in town, not on Cullen land, and not on Quileute land. James crosses Rafe’s territory while hunting Bella, leaving a human-killer vampire scent trail. Rafe follows it toward Forks, creating tense reactions from Cullens first and wolves later. Angela is Rafe’s slow-burn romance, but she is not in the opening and learns the truth slowly.

It was crossing the wrong edge of the forest after he did.
