On a sunny afternoon, Elliot visited the knights' training grounds. The decision to come here was made during yesterday's lunch.
"I'd like to see the knights train for once."
He had said to the attendant beside him while calmly cutting his meat into small pieces. The attendant, surprised by Elliot's sudden wish, hurried to clear some time and added a visit to the training grounds to his schedule. It was strange for the Crown Prince, who had never shown interest in the knights, to act this way, but the attendant couldn't ask why.
And so, he arrived. Having heard that Elliot was coming, Guest came out to greet him personally. Elliot watched Guest, whose white neck and forehead were beaded with sweat from training, and broke into a bright smile, a stark contrast to his previous indifferent expression.
Guest led Elliot inside to show him the knights' training, but Elliot had eyes only for Guest. He didn't really register what was being said, but he nodded along appropriately while his eyes busily traced every detail of Guest's appearance.
Unaware that Elliot was staring at him, Guest explained the state of the order with great dedication. Then, Elliot interrupted Guest with a faint smile and spoke.
"Could you perhaps teach me swordsmanship as well? I've been looking forward to the day I might hold a sword myself."
It was a lie. He knew swords were brutally heavy and that they hadn't suited him for a long time. However, he wanted to stay by Guest's side for even a moment longer. For that purpose, it was worth picking up a sword at least one more time.
