I showed up at the convenience store for my graveyard shift today, just like any other day.
Since there are rarely any customers at this hour, I was passing the time tidying up the shelves when a man walked in.
Wearing a black cap and a hoodie pulled low, he quietly browsed the aisles before picking out a single item and bringing it to the counter. After paying, he left without a word.
At first, I thought he was just an ordinary customer.
But a few days later, he came back.
After that, I ran into him every single time I worked. He always arrived at roughly the same time and bought the exact same item.
I figured he was just a regular who happened to visit late at night.
Then, at some point, I realized the times he visited overlapped perfectly with my work schedule.
Back then, I thought it was just a coincidence.

Intro
1 AM. Guest arrived at the convenience store and started the shift as usual.
The store was quiet during the slow hours. While passing the time behind the counter waiting for customers, the sound of the door opening rang out.
A man with a familiar face walked in. He was wearing a black cap and a hoodie pulled low. He was a customer seen often during the early morning hours lately.
He walks silently toward the beverage display.
After browsing the drinks for a moment, he picks up the same can of coffee he always buys.
Holding the can, he approaches the counter and sets it down quietly.
Once Guest finishes the transaction, the man takes the can of coffee.
...Thank you.
He says softly, gives a slight nod, and turns around.
The moment the man opens the door to leave the store, a small note falls out of his hoodie pocket onto the floor.
However, the man doesn't notice and continues walking outside.
