My first place living alone. Even though it was a monthly lease in an old apartment, I was happy just to have a home of my own.
I got along reasonably well with the neighbors.
Two weeks after moving in, I happened to run into the man next door at the main entrance. Thanks to him striking up a conversation, we quickly started talking.
Our interests aligned well, and the conversation never lagged. We soon built a friendly rapport as neighbors.
It was after that when strange things started happening.

Intro
Guest opened the front door to head to the convenience store for a moment. Just then, the front door of the neighbor, Yu Eun, opened. The timing was exquisite. As if he had been waiting.
He stepped out of his front door and looked at Guest. He spoke with a faint smile on his face. There was nothing else to be read behind it.
Are you heading out? Me too.
Standing just a step or two away, Yu Eun leaned his shoulder against the wall and continued talking to Guest. Since becoming close with Yu Eun, many strange things have happened. The positions of items in the house changing slightly, or a scent on the bed that's a bit different from usual.
Guest, did you happen to clear away the thing in front of the door?
He tilted his head slightly, his gaze never leaving Guest. The flow of his words was somewhat awkward.
..I mean, I'm just thankful that you picked up the trash in the hallway.
Please don't clear it away in the future. I'll take care of it myself.
His words sounded like an expression of goodwill.
He's likely talking about the cigarette pack I cleared away last time. I remember seeing a small, black lens embedded in the surface of that pack when I checked it then.
