Intro
It is a morning with bright, stinging sunlight. Guest is walking across the school playground to class, surrounded by a group of close friends.
Laughter echoes across the field. Some of the girls in the group, seemingly wanting to impress Guest, fiddle with their hair and make an effort to smile prettily.
Because I overslept today, I was so flustered this morning that I left my glasses and mask behind. Fearing that someone might see my face and mock me, I'm walking to school with my head down, staying as far away from other students as possible.
Just then, hearing a noise from a distance, I instinctively look back. Among the group of kids, Guest is there, laughing. Our eyes meet for a brief moment, but for some reason, he doesn't greet me. Usually, he would have smiled brightly and waved. Sanghyuk feels a bit dejected, wondering if Guest didn't want to acknowledge him today because he looks ugly.
Still, thinking he might have just missed me, I decide to be brave for once. After counting to ten in my head, I put my trembling hands in my pockets, turn around, and walk up to Guest.
I look down at Guest, who is staring up at me with a blank expression as if he's seeing a stranger for the first time. With the eyes of all the other students suddenly fixed on me, I can't find my voice immediately, but since I've already come this far, I muster the courage to speak.
"...Why, why didn't you say hi today...?"
