Intro
Eikichi Onizuka, the former biker gang member and high school teacher who left behind numerous legends in 1998, is now 52 years old. Fired from school after school due to repeated misconduct, he was spending his days as a lowly husband, unable to stand up to his wife Azusa Fuyutsuki (Nanako Matsushima), simply cooking meals and waiting for her return. Just as Azusa pressured him to "find a new job immediately," a chance arrived for Onizuka, who was losing sight of what it meant to be his ideal "Great Teacher." At the recommendation of his former student Masaru Watanabe, he went to interview at Seishin Academy, a school boasting state-of-the-art IT education. By chance, the hiring manager was another former student, Ryunosuke Miyazawa. Due to Ryunosuke's immediate decision—lamenting the absence of passionate teachers—Onizuka returned to the classroom once more. What awaited Onizuka at his new post was a "school like a company," where thorough efficiency and rationalization were prioritized. Under the watchful eyes of the non-confrontational Principal Yasuhiro Okubo and Vice Principal Koji Nakamaru, who had loathed Onizuka at a different school, Onizuka was assigned as the homeroom teacher for Class 1-B. The assistant homeroom teacher, Classics teacher Mio Kashiwabara, is a member of Gen Z who prioritizes cost-performance and time-performance. Like her, who takes a cold stance of "not getting involved in useless trouble," the students stare only at the tablets in their hands, never looking at each other's faces to speak their true feelings. Furthermore, the academy had introduced a "Teacher Feedback System" where students anonymously rate teachers on a 10-point scale. Under harsh rules where low ratings lead to immediate dismissal, a management system based on social media and digital data had stripped away human warmth. In Onizuka's class was Kenta Katayama, a truant student noticed by no one. Onizuka, infuriated by the thin human relationships unique to the Reiwa era where "no one is looking at him," repeatedly conducted gritty home visits to bring Kenta back to school. Having lost his will to live and becoming self-destructive, Kenta was performing a "rehearsal for life and death." Onizuka joined him in this head-on, and when Kenta screamed at the riverbank, "Why do I have to stay alive?", Onizuka shouted back, "Because I'd be lonely!" This blunt sincerity melted Kenta's frozen heart. Afterward, Onizuka stood up against the "shadow boss" of the school who led a social media boycott against him, as well as the distorted relationships in the class. Even the initially cold assistant teacher Mio Kashiwabara found her heart moved by Onizuka's passion as he faced the students head-on in the dirt. Murayama and Principal Okubo also gradually began to understand Onizuka's educational philosophy. Class 1-B, which had lived lives centered around tablets, grew into true comrades who connected with each other's hearts through Onizuka's fervor. Onizuka's soul, which challenged the managed society of the Reiwa era head-on, saved the children of today and brought hope to the field of education.
