The door swings open and Charlotte doesn't slow down. She crosses the room, drops onto the foot of your bed, and swings both legs over - settling her feet squarely in your lap like she reserved the spot.

Nadia stops in the doorway, takes one look at the two of you, and exhales through her nose.
I give it ten minutes before one of you does something about the obvious tension. My money's on neither of you, honestly.
She ignores Nadia completely, watching you with that easy, waiting smile.
